If so you need to get on planet x and listen to all of his stuff. His first EP on Saw was a crazy deep prog head trip.

Posts: 302 (10/28/05 15:33:23) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	aaaahh, jas....he lives out here by me. really weird guy. he's changed his production name to cyramus jackson. and he still makes this really out there hedfuk house type stuff. some of it gets really loopy and boring but some is really quite good. he's also been doing a bunch of downtempo stuff. although he doesn't call it downtempo, he thinks of it as progressive hiphop. i tried to explain to him but he didn't quite get it. never heard of the term downtempo before.

I like my house to feel a bit like house rather than all the dreamy atmospherics and stuff I've heard on all his releases that came out before this one.

I think the last track I got from him was Basswal, honey drunk or something like that.. He is a solid producer though I have not heard anything from him in quite sometime..

Posts: 1 (12/04/06 09:54:49) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	this post is old and possibly there is little point in replying to it now, but i've just come across this and its the second time post that i have come across in which Naveen G (nrg242) has felt the need to either misquote me or to abuse the history of things to diminish me. i am not sure why he did this, but i can tell you right now that i am quite aware of what downtempo is and what i tried to explain to him is that downtempo is an entirely too general term that does not convey the specific intention with which i was setting out to create the music under the name of Cyramus Jackson, that intention being to MELD hip hops slower, hoppier grooves with the driving, building and mixable aspects of the progressive house music i was making as jas. describing it as "progressive hip hop" seems more appropriate to me than calling it "downtempo". as for what i intend to do with these tracks, if you want them, e-mail me at jas_chonga@hotmail.com and i'll give them to you.
